Tarallucci al finocchietto selvatico

The lady you'll see in this link is one of my aunt..she's from the wonderful Apulia, that for its gastronomic tradition worths a visit.
Taralli is something you cannot stop eating..is a kind of bread. Some salted snack like crakers but of course absolutely healthier and done with the magic "liquid gold" of this region..Olive oil.
This is a tradition that goes from generation to generation and how to move the hands is just a question of patience and time..for those who are lucky and can use their time.
Fennel's seeds are picked up in the country during the months of August..by hand..of course.
The taralli have been cooked in a wood oven burning oak wood..as the tradition impose.
Have a look to those little jewels..and you'll understand why it's impossible to stop eating..http://segnievidenti.blogspot.com/2011/02/about-food.html?spref=fb

CARNEVALE..OGNI SCHERZO VALE During Carnival every joke is allowed..it sounds more or less like that..
With the theatre reform in 1600 the masks become a public affair, they are not only on the stage but they are part of the people tradition.
Gianduia..speaks italian but has a deep piedmontese accent...Arlecchino a venetian accent.
Meneghino is from Milan...Tartaglia comes from south of Italy...Naples ..Colombina...and Rugantino..who can answer?
Bugie recipe:
Bugie means lies..chiacchere means chats probably 'cause they have an onomathopeic sound:

Cappella di S Giorgio
S.Giorgio's chapel in located on the top of the hill with an amazing view on the mountains and hills right in front of you.
During sunny days you can see from Maritime Alps to Monte Rosa and far away you could even see, Turin's hills.
Of course tgis little chapel is dedicated to S. George who's killing the dragon.
A delicate painting that really worths a vist to Cigliè.

PIedmont is not only wine...cultural holiday as well.
Maybe not a lot of you will come to Italy and visit " PArchi letterari" a series of parks dedicated to famous writes that we're are proud of.
You might come to visit Piedmont and Langhe just for its excellent wines and truffles...and how could we blame you??? You might come for the wonderful landscape and gastronomy ...
well I 'll tell you another good reason to come for...Beppe Fenoglio and Cesare Pavese, alone they worth a trip to this region.
Two very famous contemporary writers, well known all around the world ad translated into different language.
Maybe in a relaxing day...drinking a good glass of red wine you could come across a book as " La Malora" or " Il mestiere di vivere".
You could understand a lot more of this part of Piedmont, called Langhe, if you read some pages of Fenoglio who's so detailed in describing how was life here less than 50 years ago.
I think that is important when you visit a land like this, so reach of history...

Meraviglioso Andrea Pozzo
